Il numero di ottobre 2022 della Rassegna trimestrale dell’Osservatorio AIR è soprattutto un numero di bilanci: sullo stato di attuazione dell'AIR e della VIR, di cui dà conto la relazione annuale del Dipartimento affari giuridici e legislativi della Presidenza del Consiglio dei ministri; sulle pratiche di better regulation in Europa, così come analizzate dall'OCSE; sulle buone pratiche italiane selezionate attraverso il contest “Buone pratiche regolatorie 2022, organizzato dalla Cattedra Jean Monnet on EU Approach to Better Regulation della LUMSA con il patrocinio dell’Osservatorio AIR, dell’OCSE e della Presidenza del Consiglio dei ministri – Ministro per la pubblica amministrazione; sulla regolazione dell'intelligenza artificiale in Italia, nell'esperienza della Banca d'Italia; sulle strutture e le procedure regionali a supporto della tecnica legislativa e sulla necessità del rapporto tra Giunte e Consigli per il miglioramento di essa. E, infine, nella consueta recensione, il bilancio delle funzioni e dei rapporti istituzionali ricoperti dalle Autorità indipendenti, a diversi decenni dalla loro istituzione.

L’introduzione al numero, a cura delle editors Federica Cacciatore e Nicoletta Rangone, è in open access, così come il contributo di Luca Megale sulle buone pratiche regolatorie italiane 2022.
