Rassegna trimestrale n. XII-1 - Gennaio 2021

Abstract (EN) - The paper presents the findings and recommendations of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee’s Report on Competition in Digital Markets. Secondly, it analyses the concreteness and relevance of such recommendations in relation to the existing antitrust instruments, to the investigation against Google and to the English Digital Markets Taskforce and European Commission proposals. It concludes that the Report represents the starting point of a reform process. However, the way to go is probably the one of the ex ante regulation proposals. Abstract (IT) - Le nuove tecnologie e il...

Abstract (EN) - The document ‘Impact Assessments: Room for Improvement?’ published in August 2020 by the Regulatory Policy Committee, sets out some issues based on the regulatory oversight body experience on the evidence underpinning UK Government’s regulatory proposals. The document also recognizes some of the limitations that characterize the current role of the independent regulatory oversight body. The issues raised in the RPC’s consultation document are also of interest for the Italian case because they indicate improvements in the ways analysis and evidence are collected and presented...

Abstract (IT) - Il contributo recensisce il recente articolo di Jerry Ellig, Regulatory Impact Analysis for Financial Regulations.
